On July 27, Ukraine's Olympic team won their second group stage match of the 2024 Games, defeating Morocco 2:1.
"Our players deserve credit for their focus and determination. Even when down to ten men, they fought hard for the result. I want to congratulate everyone on Ukraine's first Olympic victory.
We have one more group match, and we must focus on our game rather than our opponent. If we play as we did in the first half against Morocco, we can dominate.
Regarding Salyuk's red card, I believe double punishment is unfair. Referees should stick to awarding penalties. Nonetheless, we need to focus on our game and not the officiating. The key now is to recover and approach the next match with the right mindset. This final group match will decide our fate," said Ukraine's Olympic team head coach Ruslan Rotan, as quoted by exclusive broadcaster Suspilne Sport.
Ukraine will play their next match against Argentina on July 30.
