EURO-2025 (U-19): Ukraine U-19 loses to Slovenia in qualification tournament
Today, on November 16, Ukraine’s U-19 team (players born in 2006 or later) continued their campaign in the EURO-2025 qualification round.
The team traveled to the Netherlands to compete in Group 1 of the qualification phase. They started their campaign with a 1:2 loss to Kazakhstan. Today, in the town of Winsum, Ukraine faced Slovenia.
The first half ended goalless. Both teams had several goal attempts, but accuracy was lacking.
At the beginning of the second half, Slovenia took the lead through a header by Pejičič. Ukraine responded with a few attempts, but none of them posed a serious threat to the Slovenian defense. Despite their efforts, the Ukrainian team could not equalize, and the match ended 0:1.
With two defeats, Ukraine’s chances of progressing to the elite round were eliminated. Their final group match will take place on November 19 against Netherlands.
